Hi everyone! I’m so excited to share the very first update for Milo’s Cats & Coffee — my little business baby that I’ve been working hard to bring to life. Right now, I’m part of the UGA Entrepreneurship Program’s Idea Accelerator, which is helping me shape and grow this dream into something real.

The big-picture goal? To eventually open a full-fledged cat café here in Athens, GA. But befo

re that happens, we’re starting small — with our very first Cats & Coffee pop-up event in partnership with a local shelter. These events are not only a way to test the concept and show that there’s real excitement around it, but also a way to directly support rescue animals in need.

Our First Event: Cats & Coffee with AAHS 🐾☕

We’re kicking things off with the Athens Area Humane Society on Thursday, October 10, from 2–6 PM. This will be Milo’s Cats & Coffee’s very first public event, and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you.

Come hang out with adoptable cats and kittens while enjoying a cozy cup of coffee — it’s the perfect way to spend your afternoon.

Tickets are available now both through our website and onsite at the event. If you RSVP by purchasing your tickets ahead of time, you’ll get a discounted price.

For those who can’t make it but still want to be part of the fun, we’ve also added a Supporter Ticket option. With this, you can choose your contribution amount, and the funds will go toward covering event costs so that more proceeds can flow directly to the shelters.

Building a Brand That Feels Local

One of the things I care most about is making sure Milo’s Cats & Coffee feels connected to the community. That’s why I’m working with local artist Cathi Warren to design our logo and create illustrations for the website. Her creativity and dedication are helping bring this vision to life, and I’m so excited to share her work with you soon. (No shade to AI art, but it’s pretty easy to spot — and leaning on real local talent just fits so much better with our mission.)

A Quick Note on Logistics

We’re still finalizing a few of the event details, so the exact location or timing may shift slightly. Don’t worry — we’ll keep you posted if anything changes. All tickets and donations are fully refundable at any time, so you can RSVP with confidence.
